We believe that this generation of youth needs help. They are absolutely inundated by a popular culture that demands their very soul and gives nothing back. In a recent interview, an MTV executive was questioned about the kind of influence they were having on this generation of youth with their demoralizing music semi pornographic imagery; his response says it best: “We don’t influence this generation, we own them”.

As angry as that statement might make you, unfortunately it’s true, and recent statistics prove it.

In our country…

• Every 26 seconds a teenage girl becomes pregnant, most of them will drop out of school.
• Every day, 8,000 teens contract an STD, and most will never know it.
• 1 in 4 high school students actively use illegal drugs.
• 9 out of 10 have seen online pornography.
• 40% have intentionally inflicted self-injury.
• 1/3 have been drunk in the LAST MONTH.

Bottom line: We aren’t willing to stand by and watch an entire generation of youth be destroyed by corporations who are only interested in how deep their pockets go.

We also believe in the difference between right and wrong; that there is truth in the world, and we can know that truth. We are absolutely committed to creating the kind of environment where we have the opportunity to share this truth with youth from this community. Some may say we’re optimistic, but we believe it’s possible to release an entire generation from the clutches of the Alcohol, Tobacco, Pornography, and Music industries, and watch as this generation positively impact the world around them.

The Axiom is not ‘the’ solution, it’s just the beginning, but we think it’s a good one.
